When I started painting glasses, way back in 1988, it was because of a wedding! My mother-in-law asked me if I could make a couple of glasses for her that she could give as a gift at a bridal shower she would be attending. Little did I know then how popular and sought after hand painted bridal party gifts would become! I can honestly say that that is where I got my start with getting my work out on display in public. The gift my mother-in-law gave that day was the hit of the party, and I’ve been doing them ever since.

While my business has grown to include all kinds of hand painted designs, my favorite orders are still bridal party gifts! It is always so much fun to play a small role in what is the biggest day in a bride’s life! I very much enjoy working with the bride to come up with the perfect design for the girls that have played such an important part in her life. It is also very important to me that the bride knows she played a large role in the creation of her glasses. Afterall, it is her day! I’ve simply been blessed with the talent to paint what the bride is feeling and thinking.

In this blog, I will share with you different weddings for which I had the opportunity to create the bridal party gifts! I will tell you about my interactions with the bride, how we shared our ideas, how we eventually came up with the perfect design for her wedding, and how they turned out.
